The Hob's 1st Blogiversary - Ready. Set. Bake!

The final day of our blogiversary celebration is here! Before we reveal the details of today's contest, we want to announce the winner of yesterday's Katniss-themed prize package. And the winner is ... Gisselle. Congrats!

Our 1-year blogiversary celebration isn't just culminating with any old "fill-out-the-form" giveaway. If you want the last super cool prize package we have to give away, you're going to have to work for it...or maybe bake for it ;)

Between now and next Thursday (Sept. 22), we want you to let your creativity flow and bake some Hunger Games-inspired treats!

RULES: You must prepare some type of baked good (cake, brownies, pie, cupcakes, etc) with decorations inspired by The Hunger Games.
  • Submit a picture of yourself with the baked good to verify that you made it
  • Also submit a picture of the baked good by itself so that we can share your creation on our site
  • You are free to submit as many baked goods as you can make and decorate in the next week
  • All pictures must be submitted to admin@thehob.org by Sept. 22 at 8:00 PM ET
Our admin team will then choose our favorite Hunger Games-inspired baked good and announce the winner on Friday, Sept. 23. Wondering what the winner gets? Feast your eyes on these treats!

  3. OMG! So my homework might now get done this weekend.... Why do I have to be so dang busy? I will find time to bake and make decorations:) Does it have to have decorations from The Hunger Games?

  4. Oops I mean't do you have to decorate it?

  5. @Anon (9:30) - If you wanted to, for example, make the baked good in the shape of something Hunger Games-related - and not decorate the item - that works too :)

  6. Yup, definitely not gonna win this one. Baking is not my forte. On the other hand I already have my pin so I'm happy. :) Congratulations again, The Hob! And thank you for the giveaways!

  11. This has inspired me to do something new for Fictional Food and for your contest. Something that's always bugged me in the book.

  16. Just a quick question! Are we drawing inspiration only from "The Hunger Games" the book, or the series as a whole? Just wondering, as I'm jotting down some ideas of what to make :) Not sure if "spoilers" are allowed! :)
