Lachlan Buchanan's Screen Test For Role of Peeta?

Actor Lachlan Buchanan had expressed interest in auditioning for the role of Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games movie, and even though the part eventually went to actor Josh Hutcherson, it appears that Lachlan might have gotten the chance to at least audition for the role.

A video surfaced online today, but has subsequently been pulled due to copyright claim by Lionsgate. It appeared it might have been from Lachlan's screen test for the role of Peeta.

The scene showed Lachlan talking to Katniss (read by someone off camera) while they were in the Capitol before the games. It was a touching conversation, where Peeta asks Katniss to tell his family he loved them when she made it back from the games, since he had faith she would win, and he would not. (this is based on the rooftop conversation between Katniss and Peeta on pages 141-142)

    Was that in the book? I feel like it might have been the rooftop scene (or at least based on it), but I can't remember. lol.

    That's how I pictured Peeta strong and tall and big. Like katniss said the careers would have wanted him, and got him. Josh hutcherson is a great actor though, hopefully he can make Up for peetas character what he lacks in looks for me.

    I could totally see him as Peeta, and he's a huge Hunger Games fan. Wish I would have been able to catch the video! He is super adorable.

    I think he is perfedt for the role as finnick, but not for peeta. I got used to Josh as Peeta!!!!! (Hope I've said it right :D)

    Wow. He's pretty. Much more Peeta-like to me originally but I've also gotten used to Josh. I definitely don't think he looks 30 though. I'm 23 and he looks closer to my age to me. More Finnick-age.

    @healthybodymindmarriage: I think so, too. All the interviews and pictures with Josh as Peeta. That's why I've gotten used to him and I can't imagine Lachlan as Peeta now, more as Finnick :D

    Lachlan is 24 (as of April 25th). I think he definitely has a Peeta look, but I could totally see him as Finnick. I think Lachlan and Hunter Parrish look very similar - shaggy blonde hair, chiseled jaw.
