Will Danny Elfman Score 'The Hunger Games'?

At a recent celebration for the Danny Elfman and Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box, award-winning composer Elfman sat down for a Q&A about his distinguished career. As the composer of so many iconic films, like Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, an obvious question was what will Elfman be doing next. The Hunger Games came up as a possibility:
"The Hunger Games popped up, which seemed like a really interesting thing. Different -- and different catches my attention in a way that's like, 'Oh, I can't ever pass up a chance to do something different.' So that deal's not even closed, it may not even happen, but we're well along with that."
You can read the rest of the Q&A at Buzzine. And many thanks to @Rebekahdg for the head's up!

What do you think? Would Danny Elfman be perfect for The Hunger Games?

  1. This is so exciting! I'm also glad to hear that they're likely going with a score as opposed to a soundtrack.

  8. I've thought from the very beginning they should do a soundtrack, or have Danny Elfman score it. Since he's up for it, c'mon guys! We need it!

Wanna start a twitter hashtag for it? #Elfman4HGScore or something? That's long though...
